How To Set Up A Custom Spend Limit?
Spending limits are an important part of how billing through Shopify works. When you connect a Shopify store to Greenspark, your Greenspark subscription billing needs to run through Shopify. The spending limit is the maximum amount Greenspark can charge you through Shopify each month for your subscription.
If your spending limit is reached, your Greenspark subscription may be paused until your budget is increased or the next billing cycle begins. During this time, Greenspark services connected to your subscription may be suspended to prevent extra subscription charges. This means widgets and active impact creation may be paused. Any claims on your website, such as “we plant a tree for every order”, should also be removed or updated if impact creation is no longer active, to avoid making unsupported impact claims.
In this article we will cover:
1. Set up your spend limit
After integrating Shopify you will see a banner within the app which prompts you to create a spending limit. Simply click on Manage Payment to get started.

On the first page you will need to choose what limit level you want to set. You will have three options:
- Recommended limit: Calculated based on the average monthly subscription usage of similar stores on your plan.
- Enhanced limit: Designed to give you more flexibility during higher-activity periods, such as Black Friday, Earth Month, or Christmas.
- Set your own: Choose your own monthly subscription spending limit.

Once you have chosen your desired limit you will need to click on Proceed To Shopify to accept the billing set up and ensure that we are able to process payments.
Cancel Shopify Integration will remove your Shopify store connection
When re-directed to Shopify simply click on Approve to accept the spend limit.

After that you will be automatically re-directed to the Greenspark app and your billing will be set up. Click on Go To My Account to go back to your dashboard.

2. Edit up your spend limit
To edit your spend limit you can head to Account -> Billing

Here you can see how much of their spending limit each of your stores has used so far. Find the store you for which you want to edit the spend limit and click on the pencil icon.

Next you will be able to update your current spend limit. The next steps are the same as in part 1. Set up your spend limit.
